It turns out that Key Largo is the dive capital of the US because it has the 3rd largest coral reef in the world. There are glass bottom boat trips out over the reef so we had to check that out. The Egret is Fred who is sort of a glass bottom boat pet, they rescued him with 6 fishhooks that he had swallowed. He eats sushi out of their hands now. And yes, the African Queen was filmed on Key Largo and that is from the old Humphrey Bogart movie. The canal system is quite extensive and we got a tour of the upscale neighborhood on the way out to the Atlantic.
